Augie's is the most beautiful coffee house I've ever been in. Light dulcimer music was playing on the overhead, and I recognized Over the Sea to Skye playing, which I hadn't heard in years. There are two chess boards and one checker board set up on a low table before a leather sofa facing a fireplace, and they've hired an artist to duplicate some illuminated manuscripts on the walls. Really, really beautiful. And on top of all that, it was clean, comfortable, good service, and the coffee was darn good.
